Satharakan manthranaya have many roles. "Maheushanda pandithaya" is the main role of the story. other roles are Kewatta bamuna, Brahmadaththa raju, Thalatha Dewi, parrot e.t.c.
The main purpose of writing ummagga Jataka is to praise the intellect of "Maheushanda pandithaya" .
The story of Ummagga Jataka is as follows,
A Brahmin named Kevetta with his king and conquers all the cities in India. Eventually, when a small kingdom, Miyulu, is about to be besieged, mahaushanda, one of the most intelligent Brahmins in the city, devises various tactics to stop it. In the end it succeeds.
